Breakfast is a big deal in our home. Here is an awesome antidote to another piece of toast. Easy and cooks up in minutes, our floral French toast satiates appetites big and small. A side of berries and you're set. And don't feel guilty, when you think about it, French toast is kind of like eating an omelet and toast ... with a little more pizzazz.

STUFF
1/2 cup of half and half
1 cup milk
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon rose water
1/2 teaspoon lavender, crushed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Bread (your choice ... brioche is great, so are seed breads)
coconut oil, for cooking
TO DO
Whisk all ingredients, minus coconut oil. In a hot, cast iron pan, over medium heat, add a bit of coconut oil to coat. Soak a piece of bread on both sides (without over drenching) and then pan-fry on both sides. Fit as many slices as you can, without over crowding the pan. Repeat, adding more coconut oil as needed (feel free to use butter or ghee instead).
You can sprinkle cinnamon on toast and a little coarse, brown sugar--if you are being overly indulgent. A little drizzle of maple or honey is a must, as the recipe calls for no sugar. Enjoy- BPB
